Basically you can store most anything in your storage facility. For example, you could store mobile equipment, office files, business records, manufacturer's samples, seasonal decorations, theatrical scenery and any additional supplies.

Selecting A Storage Space

You storage consultant should be able to help you select a space that will best suit your specific needs. Even thought a small space that is efficiently packed will be less expensive than a larger space depending on your needs a larger space might be more worthwhile. For instance, if your needs are such that you will be using the space quite often, you may find that a larger space (well organized with file boxes and racks) makes more sense for you. Most self storage facilities are willing and able to make modifications to meet your specific needs. Always acquire about your need before choosing a storage facility.

Like any other agreement, you should always read through you self storage agreement carefully and thoroughly. As this is an important document, be sure to keep it in a safe place. If you feel you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact the staff at the self storage facility.

Security

One of the first questions you should ask you storage facility representative is about security. Even thought you purchase insurance, certain articles & documents are irreplaceable. Here are some questions you might want to ask:

 

·         Is there a 24 hour security guard on the premises?

·         Are there any cameras? If yes where are they located?

·         Is the building equipped with fire alarms and burglar alarms? If yes, is each unit separately equipped?

·         You may also want to ask if anybody else has access to your unit.

 

Insure Your Goods In Storage

Remember, the items you choose to store in a self storage space belong to you, and they remain your sole responsibility. That is why you should be sure to insure them. Nobody but yourself will be responsible for your items but you. Contact a local insurance provider to find out more. Ask the storage facility manager, he might be able to assist you in choosing an insurance provider.
